Blue Chip

The company Blue Chip was founded by horse lover Clare Blaskey in 1996 after friends and co-workers encouraged her to start up her own horse feed business. Recognising a gap in the market for a feed that provided optimal nutrients to working horses without encouraging weight gain, Clare decided to enrol the help of the Kentucky Equine Research Station, along with leading veterinarians, equine scientists and fellow horse owners to develop a brand that met this need. Since its founding, Blue Chip, named after Clare’s own horse, has gone from strength to strength, gaining a reputation as a leading feed for ex-racehorses, helping them to re-build strength and maintain a healthy weight in their retirement. The Blue Chip range includes specialist feed balancers, joint supplements, equine calmers and additional formulations, with Blue Chip Original and Original Native remaining the most popular.
