Millie is getting older, her weight always drops in the summer when she roams and this food has been a massive help keeping her healthy and strong. She never turns her nose up at it & within a week she's gained lots of condition. Really useful to have in for when other pets have been unwell and great it's suitable for both dogs and cats.

Excellent product, the only thing I could get my bitch to eat after her C section. Would recommend keeping some in stock for emergencies.

My cats like this, however, one of them throws up after eating it. I couldn't figure out why until I saw the ingredients. Milk! Because cats are naturally carnivores, milk has no part in the diet of a wild cat. Since these cats are never fed with milk or milk products their lactase production stops completely - which is why it is a bad idea to offer a feral cat a saucer of milk. The only cats which are lactose-tolerant are cats which have been fed milk on a moderately regular basis since kittenhood.

Below are some recent questions we've received regarding ROYAL CANIN® Canine Veterinary Diets Recovery Dog & Cat Food, including answers from our team.
Sophie Crease
Would this food be something I could try on my boxer who has liver disease? She has lost a lot of weight and is off her food. I'm struggling to get her to eat which also means I can't always get her to take her supplements I.e. Milk thistle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
This diet might be very suitable, although if your dog is vomiting there might be more to it than just an appropriate diet. You will need to check this with your vet. Hepatosyl is a good example of a supplement to help the liver.
