The Petkin Itchstick discourages your pet from scratching or chewing and stops the itching and pain that can come from that. The bitter taste discourage your pet from licking it off. 
Active ingredient: Benzocaine. Key ingredients: Pure Witch Hazel, Aloe Vera Gel, Oatmeal, Comfrey, Vitamins A, B & E, Salicylic Acid, Benzalkonium Chloride, Bitter Taste. Safe for puppies and kittens over 6 weeks. For external use only. Consult your veterinarian before using on sick or aged pets, or if conditions worsen or persist over 7 days. If sensitivity or allergic reaction occurs, rinse with water and discontinue use. In case of eye contact, rinse with water. Not for child use.
Turn dial to raise. Part hair and rub stick over irritated areas. Apply up to 3 to 4 times daily as needed. (Test on small area before first use in case of allergy or sensitive skin.)

This product hasn't worked for my cat yet but I only applied it once or twice every few days. Maybe will be effective if used more regular. I will continue to use as it doesn't hurt my cat and has no side effects with it.

I bought this for Buster my only Tom , he does suffer from a skin irritation this product I thought would help , No although supposed to have a not nice taste Buster sat in front of me and happy licked it off .

This works! My dog had got into a habit of licking his feet until they were raw. No mite or fleas, just a bad habit.
I used this itchstick and he stopped licking. His hair is actually starting to grow back in. Glad I tried this.
